Again! There must be some recent game where having multiple copies of a card lets you spend something to use all of their abilities at once. Can anyone think of a game with a rule like this?

No.

This is the Corporation's hand of cards. Cards in HQ are inactive.

^This. The only 'active' elements of a card not currently installed (or installed but unrezzed, in the case of Corp) are type and subtype. So MG always has Ice and Mythic (even while uninstalled) for cards where this is relevant, such as Levy University, but won't gain any additional subtypes until installed and rezzed.

Very thorough and definitive answers that also prove a Snare can never trigger. :p

Thanks. :)

Yeah, it's weird.

The rule of thumb I use now is, card text is only active as above (or on-access as per FAQ clarification), unless the card text would NEVER fire without the card being an exception to these rules.

eg Subliminal Messaging's text is active in Archives to let you pull it back to HQ.

Time will tell I suppose.

Yeah, that's the story. Did you talk to them yourself?

I don't see why they would want to influence voting one way or the other. I think that if they thought Laramy was so awesome, they never would've put him up to a vote in the first place. On the other hand, there are a lot of cool viruses, from original Netrunner, that do interesting stuff to HQ. I really hope they bring back a bunch of those for Laramy.

No complaints yet, aside from some poorly-worded cards.

What CommissarFeesh said above. Also, I just go by The Golden Rule™, which applies in every CCG / LCG / XCG / LOLWTFCG ever created: "The cards are allowed to break the rules."

The cards are always right.
(Except when they're wrong, and then there's an erratum. :p)

Obviously it's "trash 1 connection." and "Take 1 tag to prevent this."

I was thinking "Trash a console ."

EDIT: A closer look at the art and flavor text does suggest connection more though. I thought it was the foreground woman's backpack being torn off when I looked at the smaller image.

Yeah it's a connection. There is a guy with a bag over his head between the two gunmen.

Pretty neat effect, this could be a good way to get more tags on them if you want to. Either they're resources get hit or bring the tag punishment. Hell, if you use this first action, they block with a Tag, and now you can trash it anyway! Looks like a trace 3 to me, or trace 5 with NBN.

Not really. All you need is moderate amount of Account Siphon. I tested the deck a lot in a matchup against standard Andromeda build (3 Siphon, 2 Same Old Thing, no Planned Assault) and after a few learning games it was really hard to win as corp once the runner knew what this game is about. Any Siphon Anarch with 3 AS, 3 SOT and 3 Deja Vu (and very possibly Keyhole or Vamp) should tear this deck apart.

Glad my post could spawn another discussion, I guess. :p

I apologize if it's a stupid question, but my friend and I had genuine confusion about it due to the wording on Domestic Sleepers.

"Click Click Click: Place 1 agenda counter on Domestic Sleepers."

That could be interpreted to mean that you put a counter on any/all cards named Domestic Sleepers. If there are multiple of those cards on the board, why wouldn't it trigger them all? I understand that would make the card a bit OP, but I felt like I'd try to find an explanation on the forums.

It wasn't a stupid question, David. It is quite natural to think of a click as an "hour" in game terms. So the "click: (effect)" text on cards is intuitively but mistakenly read as "during a click, this card does so and so." Wrong reading.

(In your defense, "Domestic Sleepers" being a plural makes the wrong reading even more natural.)

I kind of want to get this to work with NEXT+Muckraker, some decent assets, and Midway Station. I have a whole deck in mind, but it just looks really bad to me:

NEXT on NBN
Total Cards: (49)
Identity:
Near-Earth Hub: Broadcast Center

Agenda: (11)
3x NAPD Contract (Double Time)
3x AstroScript Pilot Program (Core)
3x Project Beale (Future Proof)
2x Breaking News (Core)

Asset: (9)
3x Mental Health Clinic (Honor and Profit) ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■
3x PAD Campaign (Core)
3x Marked Accounts (Cyber Exodus)

ICE: (14)
2x NEXT Bronze (Opening Moves) ■ ■ ■ ■
3x NEXT Silver (Upstalk) ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■
1x Mother Goddess (Upstalk)
1x Rototurret (Core) ■
3x Muckraker (Second Thoughts)
2x Tollbooth (Core)
2x Grim (Opening Moves)

Operation: (6)
3x Sweeps Week (True Colors)
3x Hedge Fund (Core)

Upgrade: (9)
3x SanSan City Grid (Core)
3x Midway Station Grid (Upstalk)
3x Red Herrings (Core)

Yeah, there are a few problems:

* Lots of Bad Publicity in a deck with lots of asset economy. This is counterproductive (give them bad pub with which to trash your econ cheaper)

* Lots of bad pub in a deck that has a lot of taxing. (Midway station, tracers, Red Herrings, NAPD, etc).

* Muckraker to tag, and nothing to use them on? Like, literally nothing at all.

The muckraker has no place in what youre trying to do with the rest of the deck.

I lost to a Andy-siphon deck, not because they kept me poor (they couldn't) but because I didn't use my cards correctly. The only ICE I had in play was a rezzed Pup on HQ. As for Anarch, we don't have many that will bring that to a tournament and the one that does plays a Siphonless deck (he drove that Runner deck to a Top 8 performance at our Regional).

You could be right, I haven't played the top guys in my meta using their "I am playing for serious, it's tourney time" decks. That will be an interesting test. Like I said, I am running to get people trained up to face it. Frankly, I am expecting a metric ton of NBN in my meta. The new ID is getting a lot of play and we have some pretty well developed killer NBN decks.

My main vein right now is Taxing RP and a side experiment with a Red Coats variant as my goto decks. I may bring them back out to mess with some of the new cards.

Right now I am experimenting with Runner decks to find something I can live with.

Let's be honest though: it's not going to see much play, for the same reasons Freelancer, Foxfire and Cyberdex Trial don't.

I agree that a program hosting an hardware is weird... :what:

Break the News
Criminal Event - Priority - Run
Cost 3 (•••)

Play only as your first click.
At the start of each run this turn, the corp gains 1 bad publicity. At the end of the turn, the corp removes all bad publicity.
Make a run.

Despite being masterfully fabricated, the scandal began to unravel soon after the story broke. Nevertheless, the damage had been done.

I really like the design of this card and thematically speaking is brilliant... good job!

Not a bad idea but I am leery of a card that lets a player shuffle every single turn (especially at the beginning of the turn), only for how much it could slow the game down.

good point, maybe we could combine Trash Bin with "Discard", adding this ability to the console:

When you install Trash Bin, you may search your stack for up to 3 programs and trash them. Shuffle your stack.

Or I could limit its use:

Place 3 trash counters on Trash Bin when it is installed.
Once per turn, you may remove 1 hosted trash counter to search your stack for a program and trash it. Shuffle your stack.

Eavesdrop seems far too strong to me... I would reduce the draw and add an influence cost
