Well I think this has been fairly well addressed in the replies, but there are a couple key points.

First of all if you have an Armitage in hand and you need cash NOW, it's not going to help you out in the least. As you noted you'd have to spend your entire turn without any gains over having just taken credits. So it doesn't serve the role of fast cash injection that Sure Gamble does. But that's ok, it's a longer term investment card. And in the long term, is does net you a greater yield than Sure Gamble (+4 credits vs +3 by your analysis, or +3 vs +2 if you wish to factor in drawing the card)

The point is that in the course of a game you're going to be spending more than 7 actions just taking credits. Given that fact, if you are able to get an Armitage out first, that is pure profit, why wouldn't you want it?

Also, Aesop significantly boosts the returns on Armitage. If you don't count the draw cost, perhaps a deck using Wyldside that consequently has a lower valuation for draws, then Aesop-Armitage is exactly doubling your click for credit returns over a 6 action interval. So you're getting the efficiency of Magnum Opus for zero MU and no upfront cost (1 credit install accounted for in 6 clicks for 12 credits) Though of course unlike Opus, it isn't unlimited.
