A more complicated algorithm runs at the beginning of each month, which often causes relatively large moves in rankings, especially for games with fewer ratings. It's possible that each person's rating for each given game are compared to all their other ratings, or something. Whatever it is, it's too time/processor intensive to run every night.Regarding people's questions about subdomain rankings: if you're a strategy gamer, your rating will apply towards the strategy subdomain rank. If you're a wargamer, your rating will apply towards the wargame subdomain rank. And so on. (You can be more than one thing.) What makes you a strategy gamer? You have to have rated a certain number of strategy games; the specific number is secret so people don't game the system.
